2016 Goals

I'm choosing to say goals verses "New Year's Resolutions" in hopes that they may be a little more attainable.  And it's so easy to just let a resolution die after a few weeks into the new year.

It's been a long while since I've actually written down things I want to do differently in an upcoming year.  Normally, I just have great intentions I ponder on in my head but carefully keep to myself as to avoid having someone actually hold me accountable.  Things are changing and I'm trying something new.

So here goes......

-Time:
My life gets crazy.  Most of that is my fault.  I don't say no.  I over commit.  And then I end up neglecting the things I really need to make a top priority.  It's got to change.  I look around sometimes and wonder why certain people never seem as stressed and chaotic as me.... Because they say no.  It's not a magic secret.  So my #1 goal is to get control over how I spend my time.

-Health:
I joined Crossfit this time last year.  I absolutely love it.  However, I let my crazy schedule dictate my workouts.  I have been most successful with working out when I make a weekly schedule and stick to it.  And sometimes that means I say no to fun last minute things.  And I live by a pretty strict schedule.  But for 2016, health is going to be a priority and that's just how it will have to be.  I also know that going to bed at a decent hour is key to having a healthy workout schedule.  And I have to get my diet under control.  So goal #2 is no excuses when it comes to these areas.

-Spiritual:
2016 is a year of trust between the Lord and I. It's that simple.  I'm tired of stressing and worrying over things that I know He will take care of.  And I'm choosing to trust Him whether it looks like it's going the way I want it to or not.  Goal #3:  trust.

So that's it.  Nothing crazy.  Actually they are probably all top 3 on a lot of people's list this year.  If I can get a good handle on these three things, I know everything else will be smooth sailing.

Happy New Year!  For the first time in a long time, I'm actually anticipating what this year is going to bring.
